PlaylistFeed is committed to maintaining a safe and trustworthy platform for both artists and curators. Fraudulent activity undermines the integrity of music discovery and violates our terms of service.
This article outlines what counts as fraud, how we detect it, and what actions are taken in response.
What Counts as Fraud
The following activities are considered fraudulent and are strictly prohibited:
- Fake Accounts: Creating multiple accounts to game the system, generate fake activity, or submit to yourself
- Engagement Manipulation: Using bots or fake users to inflate likes, follows, saves, or Boost visibility
- False Representation: Pretending to be another artist, curator, or brand
- Playlist Looping: Creating networks of playlists that only trade placements between fake or inactive accounts
- Token or Credit Abuse (if applicable): Exploiting submission systems to generate free access, bypass storage limits, or trigger unintended payouts
Platform Integrity Measures
To detect fraud, we use a combination of:
- Account verification signals
- Pattern recognition (e.g., submission and acceptance loops)
- IP address and device tracking
- Manual audits and community reports
We monitor unusual account behavior and take action when violations are confirmed.
Penalties for Fraud
If fraudulent behavior is detected:
- Your account may be suspended or permanently banned
- Your playlists may be removed from Feed & Explore
- Boosts, submissions, and network access may be revoked without refund
- All reported or manipulated data may be reset or deleted
Severe or repeated violations may result in permanent platform bans.
